THE OAKWOOD VETERAN PROJECT

Oakwood Cemetery requests families help as they continue to identify veterans buried at Oakwood.

In our ongoing effort to fully collect data on those that served our country, Oakwood Cemetery has created a new project to collect veterans’ information. We are inviting family and friends of people who rest here to fill out this form if their loved one is a veteran of any branch (with or without war service). Oakwood will then continue to do research on these veterans to be able to tell the story of those brave men and women.

While our Field of Honor military markers note military service, there’s still much we don’t know about not only these service members but especially those buried before the creation of this special section in 1997.

This project will also allow us to ensure that these men and women receive flags on their graves on patriotic holidays and wreaths from Wreaths Across America. Even if you have provided this information to us before, feel free to fill out this form. We will have volunteers that will work through our lists to combine them into one. The information may be included in our burial records online.
