Flags naturally become torn, tattered, dirty or broken while standing sentinel on the grave of a veteran.

Oakwood has been the grateful recipient of small donations of flags over the years to help maintain the condition of our collection. Currently our flags are in rough shape, and a significant number need to be replaced.

Oakwood is honored to have more than 2500 service members buried beneath our oaks. In order to decorate each grave we estimate we need to retire and replace half of our collection, meaning we need to invest in at least 1000, 8”x12” flags.

We are looking to our community to help us honor our veterans and patriots by donating towards this investment. Wholesale price of American made flags are about $2.50 each.

Sponsor a Crate:

Our flags are stored in 4 sealed crates while not decorating graves, the crates are brought out in the weeks preceding memorial Day, Independence day, Flag day and Veterans Day and prominently placed to allow visitors and volunteers access. Sponsoring a crate will help us meet our goal more efficiently and ensure your participation is visible to the community.

Donations of $250, a gift that will honor 100 Veterans, will be acknowledged by displaying a 6”x6” logo or personal memorial on one of our crates.

Donations of $500, a gift that will honor 200 Veterans, will be acknowledged by displaying a 10”x10” logo or personal memorial on one of our Crates.
